Jeremy Biles (CAC Jeremy) – CAC Blog Facilitator

Founded in the 1970s, the Chicago Artists' Coalition (CAC) is a non-profit service organization open to artists and non-artists. Our mission is to fulfill four basic needs: the education of the general public regarding the value of the visual arts to society; the advocacy of visual arts issues for members and the art community; the professional and educational development of artists and the arts community; and the improvement of the environment in which artists live and work.

Role: Facilitator for Chicago Artists' Coalition blogs

Chicago Connection: I moved to Chicago in 1995 to pursue graduate studies at the University of Chicago.

Background: Graduate degrees in religion and literature. During the course of my studies, I hooked up with the Hyde Park Art Center, where I was given the opportunity to do some curatorial work. I have taught at the University of Chicago, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and DePaul University. I currently teach philosophy at the Illinois Institute of Art, and am the editor of Chicago Artists' News.

Passions: I'm an inveterate scribbler, incessant photo-snapper, and enthusiastic walker.

Dream: Under construction.
